Waking up to a light offshore, mainly cloud free skies and solid swell meant everything lined up for great morning conditions before the wind came in. Some web swell sites were forecasting 18 foot and certainly some of the outer bombies were showing that kind of size. Closer in saw good 10 to 12 foot sets with the odd larger one. A lucky few got to stay off work and added day 5 to the Easter holiday break. Combine that with school hols and we saw decent crowds at the more protected bays that produced waves more to the liking of most surfers. Mainbreak was huge, and consequently less than a handful of surfers braved the testing conditions. A day to be careful and cautious in the water and not aim beyond your capabilities - for your own safety and that of the guys around you. Board accidents, particularly fin gashes, are on the rise. Take care out there people.
