Day One of the Margaret River Pro

With so much footage available of Surfer's Point today we made the decision to take a look around. Four to six foot swell started things off nicely but the morning easterly was a bit stronger than forecast. It did die down mid morning, which helped the comp along as by that stage the men's heats had started. The Aussies performed pretty well. The WSL does a much better job covering the Pro so we'll not even attempt to do it here. It was all happening at the Point, which means that other spots firing in today's conditions were relatively uncrowded, and in some spots, even empty (as today's pic of the day on Facebook illustrates). We're looking forward to what tomorrow might bring...
