What else surf wise is happening around Margies?
The WSL has all the action well and truly covered at Surfer's Point, so we thought we'd take a look elsewhere today. Conditions looked brilliant, with clear skies and plenty of swell still around from yesterday's spike. Clean six to eight foot sets were on the camera, with a few solid ten foot sets also making an appearance. There was a mid to strong off-shore around in the early morning, which died away by mid morning, but unfortunately the wind turned southerly by lunchtime

North Point Makes History
When it was announced later yesterday that the Margaret River Pro first day of competition was likely to be held at North Point, everyone was stoked. The forecast had suggested the possibility for a week to ten days prior, so the thought of being able to witness history in the making was a pretty special and unique opportunity. Shortly after announcing that it was a likely option, news circulated that there would be no public access at North Point itself. This was met with so

Sickkkkkkk.
After a mammoth all day session yesterday when crew were still catching pumpin' waves at 6pm, this morning just kept on going... turning on epic conditions before the southerly put an end to things at lunchtime. A brilliant morning of surf for those able to get into the water. Solid swell at about four to six foot (with odd larger sets) saw heaps of spots pumping. Crowds weren't too bad as it was back to work for some, and an almost perfect swell meant there was plenty of cho

10 days to go...
Well it's just after 2pm on Sunday afternoon and half the Surfing Margaret River team are in the water right now. It started pretty large early today, with some even saying fifteen foot. But as we all know, there's a lot of variation in how waves are read size wise, so that fifteen foot was also called s

The Countdown is On...
Late yesterday arvo the winds swung around to off-shore producing some great late arvo/evening surf opportunities. With the swell still holding a solid ten foot, the promise of a great morning session was in the air. Did she deliver? She sure did. As the sun rose over clear skies and a chilly night minimum of just over five degrees, Surfer's Point stood out as the place to experience all that Margies has to offer. Light off shores and a solid swell (at least ten foot with big

A Strong Cold Front Gave Us...
Well, it gave us a lot of good surf today. Yesterday was a write off, we thought we might get some options in the southern half of the Capes but the swell direction let us down. Wednesday however, was a different story. Conditions suited a journey north. She didn't disappoint, with solid 15 to 20 foot swell producing double head high waves in the morning, that dropped slightly into the afternoon, but still showed plenty of size. You just had to get yourself out of that strong
