
Scratch that last post... summer's still not here
Overcast grey skies and a light offshore greeted the early risers Friday morning. With this week one of the busiest for the year between the Capes, crowds were expected at most spots this morning. But the super low tide threw a spanner in the works, so while wind and swell were good, there was less water around than was needed for some of the classic spots to be firing (as they usually would have been). Summer's here
With less than a week to go until Xmas summer finally said hello this morning. Warm enough for a swim (finally), light off-shores early (with some decent east in them), and more swell than expected produced some nice waves. Perhaps more raw and powerful than forecast, which caught a few punters off-guard as some of the spots needing good swell started to fire. Unfortunately the off-shore got stronger and turned more south than east, eventually turning on-shore by late morning

said Tony H as he viewed the scene at Mainbreak this morning. Other calls of 'ten foot sets' and 'the swell has arrived!' also greeted those lucky enough to make it to Surfer's Point this morning. Big wave spots were firing along the coast.
