It's been a long, slow spring with a lot more winter than summer so far. But days like today make you think it's finally on its way. A decent swell and offshore winds that dropped to nothing late morning saw glassy, pristine conditions along the coast. All spots were firing. Surfers and Cape to Cape trekkers were also treated to plenty of whale action - some of it pretty close to shore. A great day all round. Spring sprang and then disappeared. Finally we got slightly warmer temps but the surf Gods haven't given us much so far this season. A small window showed itself this morning, lasting from sunrise through until lunch. The winds started light, the sun shone, and the swell kicked in at about four to six foot. The sun stopped shining and the northerly winds got stronger, making only the more sheltered spots worth a look. Good for those who could get amongst it today as the windo
