We woke to a super strong off-shore and forecast three to four foot swell. But as happens in Autumn, that off-shore died down mid-morning, the swell kicked in a little and conditions really cleaned up nicely. Plenty of options for all along the coast today.
Thirty five degrees and the surf was pumping. Good sized swell, maybe a little bigger than forecast, a strong off-shore and plenty of heat from the sun made for a great morning session. The offshore was strong early, backed off for an hour or two and then came on strong again. A great morning of surf with plenty of spots firing between the Capes. Yeeew! Good sized swell, glass, and the long weekend crowd mostly gone home - what more could we ask for? Nothing. Tuesday's morning session was epic. And a little pulse in the swell kept things very interesting. Margies just keeps on turning on the primo Autumn conditions. Yeeew! A strong off-shore and good sized swell saw plenty of spots spots firing this morning. Crowds were large as expected due to the long weekend Monday public holiday. The off-shore did die down and we were treated to super clean conditions for a good hour, before the winds came in.
We saw a few famous faces this morning at some of the spots that hold decent sized swell. Autumn let us know it was well and truly here with light offshore winds and solid six foot swell. The swell was a little wonky, and there was a wait between sets. But if you were willing to wait the odd rippa came through, and those with the talent were able to make the most of them. Let's hope today marks the start of a memorable Autumn in Margies for 2016. Yeew!
