A whole lot can happen in just 2 weeks. We've gone from pretty much doing what we want when we want, to not. News of the Margies Pro postponement started the run on corona virus changes to our lives. What was happening elsewhere is now happening to us. Surfing is one of the few pass times that offers time outside, physical activity, and isolation - IF you choose it to be that way. So choose it to be that way! We don't want to see any repeats of crowds like there were in Bondi last weekend, we don't want to see anyone not practicing social distancing, we don't want to see our beaches possibly shut down because a few idiots are choosing to not take this seriously, and with that attitude are putting others, particularly the vulnerable in our society, at risk. So for God's sake do the right thing. It's not that hard. We're all in this together, and together we'll get through it. In the meantime, don't travel out of your region, go to the beach but with close family members only (like the people you live with only), and stay 1.5 m away from everyone else - out but also IN the water too. That's our rant.
The swell hasn't been large the last few days but we've had some nice off-shores and a little bit of size in the waves. If you're lucky you can find yourself in the right place at the right time as the wind drops, but it's not been happening anywhere near the forecast times so it's really pot luck at the moment. Early has still been the best option on most days. Many kids are staying away from school so there's some charging grommets in the water, but the flip-side is that most tourists have had to pack up and head home so crowds are pretty small on the whole. The last pic in this group is from 25 March 2018, as it was such a memorable session we thought it deserved another run.

Stay safe people.
